Re-opening news
It's been a long winter for us...shortly after closing the gallery in October to make some changes, I [April] busted my elbow and broke my humerus in a biking accident. Boooo. So, a couple of surgeries and a lot of physical therapy visits later, I'm just now getting back to normal. Needless to say, the gallery plans have been set back a little further than originally anticipated.
Some changes for the gallery:
The gallery is moving to a larger spot, in the same building in May. We will still feature a monthly art exhibit, but our retail art will change. We plan to bring in some new crafty people...and are accepting new artists, if you [or someone you know] are interested. We are accepting submissions from artists interested in having a solo show as well as those interested in selling their handmade wares. Email us at skinnysquirrel@gmail.com to find out more.
Once we get things set up, we anticipate re-opening for First Fridays. We'll let you know the details as soon as we get things lined up...but it's looking like it will be July at the earliest.
Can't wait to see all your beautiful faces!

See you soon!

The Republic of Thoronia Artifacts Exhibit
September 5 - The Republic of Thoronia Artifacts Exhibit
Category: Art and Photography
This First Friday event will be a group show...come learn all about the Republic of Thoronia!
From the coordinator:
"We now have a large selection of artists interested in contributing. Including, but not limited to (not all have confirmed that they can locate their exhibit pieces, several have stressed the desire to showcase some of their artifacts, but are still weary of showing them to the public for fear of destruction, so this is a "possible" list of donors), Brent Neustiffler, Joe Flores, Jeremy Peterson, Bryan Danknich (waiting on confirmation), Rich Ryon, + silk screen prints, possibly a battle axe, furniture from the revolution of 1623 (contributed by Elliot Leslie), the original tote, Christiné Friberg's stuffed Thor doll(s), diarama's by the residing King, and a possible appearence by the Good King Thor himself. Also being worked on is a comprehensive history graph and chart depicting major events as well as where each piece of art was created, by whom, and when."

CALLING ALL BIKERS!!: Taking submissions for June’s show!!
Skinny Squirrel Gallery is taking submissions for their June show 'Bike Shots '!!
Celebrating Colorado Bike Month, we are putting on a bike-centric group show consisting of photographs, drawings and a video installation.
We need local riders to submit artwork documenting life on a bike. Whether it's showing off your rad bike [or appreciating someone else's], taking awesome road shots while in the saddle, capturing cool bike shadows/reflections in buildings, bloody body parts from crashing, tricks, you get the idea.
Get on Flickr if you need inspiration. And this doesn't have to be just urban/fixie wanker shots...we want to represent all aspects of cycling!!
What we need from YOU:
-your print [any size is fine]....but MUST have a WHITE matte. NO FRAME, please...it's going into a wall installation
-specify if you want to put it up for sale and for how much
-your name and location
-title of artwork
Submissions due June 2nd!
Email us at skinnysquirrel@gmail.com or send us a myspace message [myspace/theskinnysquirrel] for more info!!!
